Works in Progress: A Cooperative Venture

Noetic Business: Coming Into Maturity in the Information Age

We’d like to try something new- we’re posting the manuscript of a new book on our website, available here. So far I have the Intro and two chapters to “Noetic Business. Coming to Maturity in the Information Age.” Take a look at it. Here’s what I’d like you to do:

1.  Make suggestions that will help more people benefit from these novel ideas. You will receive full acknowledgement for your input.

2.  Think about businesspeople that match the description of the advanced and mature person I’m describing. I’d like to interview them and get their story in the book.

3.  Get interested in writing. Let’s talk. Fire up Word, Google Docs, or your favorite word processor to get your own manuscript going and I’ll serve as your encourager, editor and sounding board.

For the book, “Flow of Work and the Company’s Fortunes,” I interviewed Tim Magoolahan of Nardy Honda, Robert Baffa of The Plaza, and two people from Jefferson’s Ferry, Karen Brannen and Bryan Dobbs. These descriptions of real people working right here in Suffolk County, who a number of us know, made the teaching tips of that book come alive. Let’s do the same here. I already have seven people, and I’d like to add more.

Don’t know what “Noetic” means? It means operating with a fuller complement of information than you’re used to having. It means knowledge. It’s the kind of knowledge that puts you ahead of the competition. And most important, it’s knowledge you already have. Read the first few pages. It’ll open your eyes. Hear from you soon. Don’t be bashful.

“Noetic Business: Coming to Maturity in the Information Age.” (2009) Strategies that already exist in your reservoir of talents, and they’re just out of reach right now.
